Janice Adkins Hancock died on January 21, 2021 in Trussville, AL at age of 80. Janice was born July 29, 1940 in Birmingham, AL, grew up in Trussville. She later moved to Gulfport, MS in 1963, to Center Point, AL in 1972, and eventually settled back to Trussville in 2004. Janice retired from Walmart in 2004, She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Josiah Brunson Chapter; Eastern Stars, Trussville Senior Center, Trussville First Baptist Church & the Birmingham Square Dance Association. She is preceded in death by Her husband Robert “Bobby” George Hancock of 51 years, her father, Preston Roy Adkins, her mother, Rosie Allene Ash Adkins all of Trussville. She is survived by her son, Retired Air Force MSgt, Tracy Hancock (Taylor) of Kensington, MD, daughter Wendy Hancock Smith of Moody, daughter, Kitty Hancock of unknown. Brother, Lamar Adkins of Pinson, niece, Jennifer Yester (Scott) of Pinson. Grandchildren, Dalton Kelly of Moody, AL, Michael & Brandon Hancock of Panama City, FL, Oni Warner of Kensington, MD, Ash Warner of unknown, Great Niece Courtney Miller (Kyle) of Eielson AFB, AK, Great Nephews, Jonathon & Jordan Wilson of Pinson, Sister-in-law, Terry Applewhite (Andrew) of Pass Christian, MS. Visitation will be held at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Birmingham, AL on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from 12-2 P.M. with a service to follow in the chapel at 2 P.M. and burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
