Janene Sullins Daniel of Springville, Alabama, received her heavenly reward on Wednesday, September 15, 2021. Her final moments on earth were spent with her family by her side as she peacefully stepped into eternity with her Savior.
Jan was born on November 2, 1948 in Gadsden, Alabama to Charles and Jimmie Sullins. She graduated from Piedmont High School and then attended college at Jacksonville State University where she met Danny, the love of her life.
Jan loved Jesus, she loved Danny, her husband of more than 53 years. She loved her children and her grandchildren with all her heart. Jan loved God’s word and daily lived out Matthew 6:33 by investing the first part of her day reading God’s word and in prayer. Ephesians 6:10 says, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” Putting on the armor of God was a daily part of Jan’s devotion time as she recognized the true battle that she would face each and every day. She was a founding and active member of Faith Community Fellowship in Trussville, Alabama.
If you knew Jan, you quickly discovered that much of her love could be expressed on the end of a fork. Jan was a self-taught cook who wowed everyone that tasted one of her dishes, and especially her desserts. Her food was truly a gift that she loved to give to bring joy to others through what she placed on a plate.
Janene Sullins Daniel is survived by her husband, Joseph F. Daniel, daughter Dana McCarty (Steve), son Brian Daniel (Shana), grandchildren, Brett and Josiah McCarty, Mackenzie and Caitlin Daniel, Caleb McCarty, and Justin and Gavin Daniel. She is also survived by her sister Dawn Hamby (Stanley) and her nieces Lindsay Hamby and Jamie Anthony. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Jimmie Sullins along with other family members.
A visitation will be held in her honor on Tuesday, September 21st at 10am at Faith Community Fellowship in Trussville, Alabama, and a memorial service will follow at 11am.
