Jane Horn

Hilda Jane Goode Van Horn passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014 at her home in Center Point, Alabama after a long bout with cancer. Born to Hazel Goode on November 13, 1932 in Pineville, West Virginia, she moved to Birmingham in 1951. Jane is preceded in death by her mother, Hazel Goode Stamper and her daughter-in-law Connie Bailey Van Horn (Alan). Jane was a volunteer with the Wahouma Little League Park in East Lake and was a perennial team mother. She was involved in PTA and all of her children's sports activities. She was dedicated to her children. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Jerry Scott Van Horn; a brother, Kay Eugene "John" Goode (Linda); 4 Children, Jerrie Van Horn Paschal (Norm), William Scott Van Horn, Alan Lee Van Horn (Janice), and James Gregory Van Horn (Cindy); grandchildren, Jennifer Van Horn Cox, Scott Van Horn, Alicia Van Horn, Phillip Van Horn (Charlotte), Jerry Van Horn II, Blake Van Horn, Wes Van Horn; and great grandchildren, Ashlyn, Austin and Alex Van Horn and Christian and Caitlin Van Horn. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 2:00pm at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Jefferson Memorial Trussville is directing.
