Jane Atkins

Martha "Jane" Parchman Atkins, (91 years), passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Fair Haven Retirement Community.She was the daughter of Alice and Ike Parchman of Amory , Mississippi. She was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters, her husband of 41 years, Chester Henry Atkins, and two sons, Alan P Atkins and his wife, Nancy, and Jeffery L Atkins (Ronda). She is survived by her daughters, Martha A Davenport (Raymond E III) and Joan McCarty, five grandchildren: Alanna Griffin (Chris), Andrew Davenport, Griffin Davenport, Jacob Atkins, Kristin McCarty and five great grandchildren.

She moved to Birmingham, Alabama in her twenties, where she met her husband and raised her family. She was a long time member of Huffman United Methodist Church volunteering her time when needed. She loved gardening, cooking for her family, and collecting antiques for her home. She spent her free time creating elaborate beaded Christmas ornaments for family and friends. She moved to Springville, Alabama in 2001, and lived there 12 years until moving to assisted living.Beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She has "gone home".
