James Williams

James H. "Bud" Williams, age 79, of Springville, passed away on Jan. 9. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, who worked and retired from Southern Ready Mix with over 40 years of service. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Zettie Williams; his sister, Dorothy Jean Lovell; his brother, W.J. Williams; his daughter, Martha Griner; and his first wife, Mary Sue Williams. He is survived by his wife, Linda Williams; his children, Shirley Peoples (Ricky), Jan Dempsey (Ray), James Williams, Jr., and Lisa Mitchell (Bellotti); his sisters, Thelma Shirley, Bettye Tucker, Bonnie Chamblee (Hubert); Margaret Self, Margie Simmons (Ray); 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. A visitation will be held on Saturday, Jan. 16, from 11am until 12pm at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville. Funeral service will begin at 12pm on Saturday, with Rev. David Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Springville City Cemetery.
