James Weekley

James O. Weekley, age 86, passed away on April 3, 2018. During his life he attended the University of Alabama, served in the Alabama Air National Guard, retired from ACIPCO, was a Freemason and a Shriner, and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. He was a faithful member of his church and served as the chairman of trustees. Mr. Weekley was a devoted family man and a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, who will be missed by many. Mr. Weekley was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Parker Weekley and Doris Ruth Weekley and his brother, Thomas Edgar Weekley. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Edwadine “Dean” Bibb Weekley; his children, James O. Weekley, Jr. (Tina), of Calera, Lori Weekley Egea (Eric), Dina Weekley Boyd, and Jason Weekley; close family friend, Frankie James; grandchildren, Nelson and Amanda Boyd, Jamie and Alison Weekley, Caroline Egea, Nancy Thomason, Yannick Egea; his sisters, Carolyn (Walter) Fridley and Patricia Whitfield; 3 brothers-in-law, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members. The family would like to give a special thanks to his caregivers, Debra and Sandra. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 7 at 1pm at Leeds United Methodist Church with a visitation held one hour prior.Burial will follow the service at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Leeds United Methodist Church or to Alzheimer’s of Central Alabama, 300 Office Park Drive, Suite 225, Birmingham 35223.
