James Taunton

James Ily Taunton, age 81, passed away on February 25, 2025. James worked for AT&T for close to 40 years. He was an avid deer hunter and loved going to his farm. Mr. Taunton enjoyed being outside and working outside all his life. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Trussville. He loved spending time with his three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Ily and Minnie Taunton.

James is survived by his wife of 55 years Janice Taunton; daughter, Amy Leigh (Samuel Asa, Jr.) Logue; son, Philip James (Dr. Joni Lynn Gantt) Taunton; three grandchildren, Stella, Cecelia and Caroline; sister, Becky (Gerald) Monroe.

Visitation will be on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. There will be a Chapel service at the funeral home at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
