James Daniel Stracener, of Mountain Brook, Alabama, passed away, unexpectedly, at the age of 62, on Saturday, October 21, 2023. He was preceded in death, by his grandparents, William and Ora Stracener, and Al Thompson and Mary Thompson; and his in-laws Bill and Sherry Huffstutler. Dan is survived by his loving wife, of 44 years, Kelly; his sons, Chad Stracener (Brooke) and Chase Stracener; his grandsons, James and Luke Stracener; his parents, Ollis and Ann Stracener of Oneonta; his siblings, Kim Kohlenberg (Tim), David Stracener, and Michelle Patrick (Steve); his brother-in-law, Lee Huffstutler (Beth); and his sister-in-laws, Tiffany Abernathy (Jonathan), and Cindy Huffstutler; along with many well loved nieces and nephews, as well as many close friends.
Dan spent his career working in various roles at Tractor and Equipment Company, including the roles of President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board. He also recently founded Stracener Investment Company, in partnership with his son, Chase. Dan served on the Board of Regions Bank, Alabama Road Builders Association, Associated Equipment Distributers, along with numerous other industry boards and committees.
Dan had many titles, but the one he was the most PROUD of, was POP! Dan was a wonderful man, always giving and thinking of others. He will be missed for his kindness, generosity, and overall compassion for everyone he met.
Arrangements are as follows:
The funeral service will be held, Friday, October 27, 2023 at First Baptist Church Trussville. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 pm, the service will begin at 2:00 p.m. A private family burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, Trussville.
