James "Jim" Spaugy

Oct. 30, 1945 - Nov. 2, 2015

Age 70 of Tampa, FL formerly of Birmingham, AL passed away on Nov. 2, 2015. He was a U.S. Army Veteran served in the Vietnam War. He was employed with Schaeffer Oil Company. Jim was a PGA Golf Pro for 20 years at Rocky Point Golf Course in Tampa. He was an instructor with the Kids Golf Camp at The Eagles Golf Course in Tampa. Jim was a member of the Rough Riders of Tampa Bay and active with the Wounded Warrior Project. He is preceded in death by his parents William "Bill" and Helen Spaugy; and his grandparents. Jim is survived by his sister, Jackie Spaugy Morrison; nephews, Chris Fadely, Brandon and Casey Morrison; special friends, Craig Freeman and David Thornton; and a host of family and friends. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 8, 2015 from 5-6pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Trussville, AL. Service will be held on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 2:00pm at Jefferson Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Garden East Trussville, AL.
