James departed this world for his eternal home on Wednesday, February 19, 2020. We trust he traded sadness for joy & tears for laughter when he was reunited with “His Laura” & Jimmy. James was born October 26, 1939. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Laura Sanders Peoples, Son, Jimmy Peoples, Grandmother, Alta Peoples & Mother, Eva Hudgins. He leaves behind Daughters, Janet Richardson (Byron) & Joan Woods (Jeff), Granddaughters, Stacey Setliff (Adrian) & Kelsey Creel (Logan), Grandson, Jeffrey Woods & a Great Granddaughter who brought a smile to his face, Everly Setliff. James was a simple man that was dedicated to his wife & children. He was a selfless man determined to provide for his for family. James denied himself many things & didn’t hesitate to make any sacrifice needed for his family. He definitely had a great work ethic, he only missed 1 day of work in 39 years! He believed a man should work & take care of his family. He also believed in honesty & staying true to your word. To know him was to know that he was a worker, he was frugal & he was stubborn! All in all, I guess you could say his hobby was working! He was never content with sitting around or even being in the house. He would say “a man has to work to keep going” & “you need to keep a body moving”. He could be a jokester & a cut up, he loved growing a vegetable garden, being outdoors & piddling with everything. He also loved to visit the Great Smoky Mountains with his family. He enjoyed reminiscing the good ole’ days, when his children & grandchildren were little. He taught Stacey & Kelsey how to tie their shoes & ride a bike. His life was forever changed in 2011 when the love of his life passed away. He mourned her daily & was never the same. He longed to be back with “his Laura”. His advice towards the end was to Love, Live & Laugh while you can – don’t wait! He also learned the importance of regular medical checkups. Well Dad, go rest high up on that mountain with “your Laura”, your work on earth is done! We pray you have eternal peace & happiness because you deserve it! We love & appreciate you more than you will ever know. You are forever in our hearts - We miss you already!
