James B. Ogle, 91, passed away on January 1, 2021 in Birmingham, AL. He was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his death. He is survived by his loving wife Betty, 91, his wife of 68 years, son James B. Ogle, Jr and wife Rhonda of St. Augustine, FL, daughter Deborah Peterson and husband Mark of Slidell, LA, and daughter Jan Chafin and husband Steve of Birmingham. He also had 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was born to William and Minnie Ogle, March 29, 1929 at West Woodlawn Hospital. He attended Woodlawn High School and worked in food sales for over 40 years. He was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1952 where he served in the Korean War. He fought bravely for his country that he loved, on the front lines of battle earning several medals.
He attended First Baptist Church of Center Point for over 50 years where he was an active member. He served as a deacon, youth and adult Sunday School teacher, and served on many committees over the years. He loved his Lord and friends at church and enjoyed attending services and fellowships.
The family would like to thank the brave doctors and nurses of Grandview Medical center for their loving care and professionalism during his brief stay. They are second to none.
A viewing, traditional service and burial will ensue on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 10am. Jefferson Memorial Trussville will be directing.
