James Norris Iii

James Oscar Norris, III "Jimmy" passed away on June 19, 2019 at the age of 72. A lifelong resident of Trussville and member of First Baptist Church of Trussville, Jimmy was an avid outdoorsman, beloved husband, father, "Papa" brother, uncle and friend. Jimmy always had a smile on his face and was willing to help anyone. His kind heart and generous spirit will be greatly missed. Jimmy graduated from Hewitt-Trussville High School in 1965 and from Auburn University in 1969. He was an Allstate Insurance agent for many years and worked for the City of Trussville. When he wasn't working, he loved to fish, hunt, read, garden and grow sunflowers, watch football, and spend time with friends and family. He is predeceased by his parents J.O. Norris, Jr. and Martha Kate Trammell Norris. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Stephanie, his daughters Kristin Fitzpatrick and Molly Hasenfuss (Brandon) and his grandchildren Will and Kate Fitzpatrick and Norris and Phoebe Hasenfuss, his sister, Sally Payne (John), brother Tram Norris (Donna), his nephew Butch and his nieces Leslie, Lori, Pam, Wendy, Allison and Courtney. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Big Oak Ranch and the First Baptist Church of Trussville. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 21, at 12pm at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville. A visitation will be held before the service at 10:30am until the funeral hour.
