James Minor

MINOR, JAMES D., 85, of Birmingham, passed away peacefully at Kirkwood by the River, October 2, 2009 with his wife and children by his side. James was a dedicated Christian, loving husband, father, and grandfather. James served in the Army during World War II, and retired from Alabama Power Company, after 35 years of loyal and dedicated service. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Nell McCary Minor, two children, Nelda Shemberger (Brent) of Pelham, AL, Danny Minor (Janice) of Trussville, AL, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 5, 2009 from 10-11 am at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville, AL. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at 11:00 am in Faith Gardens at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of James to the Springville Road Community Church 2165 Old Springville Road, Birmingham, AL 35215.
