James Meads

James "Gus" (Pete) Meads, age 80, of Pinson, passed away on August 29, 2011. Originally from Ragland, AL, he served in the U.S. Army and was retired from Clow Corporation with 23 years of service. He attended First Baptist Church of Chalkville. He is survived by his loving daughter, Melanie (Alex) Thompson and grandson Ben Thompson of Birmingham, AL; brother Harold Meads of Crane Hill, AL; and sister Ethel Dixon of Detroit, MI; and best friend Emily Moler of Birmingham, AL. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your local thrift store.

In The Hands of God

And so when death brings weeping, and the heart is filled with sorrow, it beckons us to seek God as we ask about tomorrow. And these hours of heart-hurt, we draw closer to believing, that even death in God's hands is not a cause for grieving, but a time for joy in knowing, death is just a stepping-stone to life that's everlasting such as we have never known.
