James O. Lynch "Jimmy and Pop", 83 yrs old, Springville AL, went to sleep here at home to awake in heaven on Mother's Day, May 10, 2015. Jimmy was born in B'ham on Feb 18, 1932 to Ed and Paula Lynch, the first and only boy of 4 siblings. He married Jane Jowers on September 20, 1952. Pop was a graduate of Warrior High School, served in the army as a medic, and attended Howard College and UAB. He was selected one of Top Ten Turkey Hunters in 1987 and Amazing Dad, 2007 by the B'ham News. He retired from U.S. Steel after 35 yrs of service. He lived each day humbly and faithfully for Jesus Christ and freely shared his salvation experience. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church and when too ill to attend listened Sundays to Gardendale 1st Baptist. He was a teller of tales, man of action, honor and laughter, our hero and mama's rock. Pop enjoyed hunting fishing, running, and pickup games of basketball and football. His Bible was read daily, and he prayed for those he loved without ceasing. He is survived by Classy Jane, his wife of 62 yrs, his children Annice Tate (Kenny), Allison Quarles (Bobby), Chris Lynch (Robbie), and Jimmy Schauer, his grandchildren Jessica Howland (Patrick) Hannah Heath (Tyler), Will Kelley, and Kaylan, Kelsey and Cameron Lynch. Jimmy was greeted in heaven by a host of loved ones including his mama and daddy, sisters, Jerry and Shirley, and son-in-law Bill. Chapel services will be held on Wed, May 13, at 10am with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Visitation will be from 9am until 10am Wed. The family would especially like to thank Becky Camp, Gina Wilson, Comfort Care and Hospice Services of Alabama for the love shown to our precious Pop. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
