James Harold Love, Sr., age 79, of Birmingham passed away March 6, 2010. Harold was born in Blount County, son of the Late Clyde and Vera Love of Hayden. He was preceded in death by his wife Lucille Walters Love and grandson Trey Goodwin. He attended Hayden High School, served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired member of Local 92 Ironworkers Union. He had a love for flying and held a private pilot's license. He was one of the founding owners of G&R, an Industrial maintenance and crane rental company in Birmingham. He is survived by five children, Cathy Goodwin of San Antonio Texas, Susan Love of Trussville, Linda (Jim) Dodson of Mobile, Jim (Diana) Love of Pinson, Matt Love of Trussville, grandchildren Leah Goodwin, Jeremy Norris, Tommy Love, Joe Love, and one great grandson Zachary Goodwin, brothers Howard Love, Claxton Love both of Hayden, sisters Faye Green of Blountsville, Betty Carol Baker of Hayden Vera Nell Hogeland of Hayden. A memorial service will be held Monday March 8, at 12pm at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville. Visitation will be from 11am until 12pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Legion.
