James "Pete" Leatherwood, age 84, of Odenville, passed away January 20, 2011. He was retired from Folgers Coffee with 40 years of service during which time he constructed the largest coffee display in the United States in Winfield AL. He was a Past President of the Heart of Dixie Railroad Club and an active original member of the Erwin High School Boosters. He served during WWII in the Air Force and was a member of the Sacred Heart Anglican Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Lois Leatherwood. Graveside services will be Sunday Jan 23, at 2pm with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Visitation will be from 1pm until 2pm Sunday. He is survived by his daughters Patricia (Tommy) Brock, Barbara (Wayne) Bender, Gayle (Charles) Oden, Judy (Wayne) Marshall, brother Hassell (Charlotte) Leatherwood, Step siblings Wayne (Doris) Parrott, Shirley (Lester) Hailey, grandchildren Kris (Jeff) Smith, Julie (Robbie) McClary, Max (Jennifer) Bender, Wesley (Emily) Oden, Jeremy Oden, Jerry (Beth Ann) Marshall, Jill (Jody) Riddle, 10 great grandchildren and special friend Joann Miller. Memorials may be made to Lakeside Hospice or the American Cancer Society. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
