James Edmund Hobdy, "Paw Paw", of Trussville passed away on March 28, 2015. He was born February 27, 1930 in Bowling Green, Kentucky to the late Leta and Clint Guy Hobdy. He is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Frances. He loved being the Daddy of three girls, Leta Head (Jim), Laura Brunson (Johnny) and Linda Bryant (David). He was so proud of and loved his eight grandchildren, Alex, Andrew and Olivia Head, Will and Catherine Brunson and, Anna, Mary Catherine and Matthew Bryant. He was a graduate of Western Kentucky University and served as First Lieutenant in the United State Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a former member of First Baptist Church of Birmingham where he served as a Deacon and is a current member of Huffman Baptist Church. He was a Gideon and loved putting The Bible in the hands of young children. He retired from Liberty National Life Insurance Company after 25 years. He leaves a legacy of honesty, integrity, humor and a love for all people. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 30 at 2:00 pm at Huffman Baptist Church with burial at Forest Crest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Huffman Baptist Church Youth Ministry, 700 Huffman Road Birmingham, AL 35215 or Caribbean Outreach P O Box 5562 Greenville, SC 29606. Jefferson Memorial Trussville will be directing the service.
