James Heron Wilson, age 96, of Chelsea, passed away on April 19, 2020. He was employed with US Steel for over 40 years before retiring at the age of 75. He served as a deacon at both Midfield Baptist Church and Liberty Baptist Church. He was also a Mason for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emory Heron Wilson and Annie Bell Wilson; his wife of 56 years, Ruby Adkins Wilson; his second wife of 16 years, Glenna Ashworth; his sister, Mary Wilson Crane; and his brothers, Gene Wilson, Kenny Wilson, and Orvel Wilson. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Wilson McDowell (Charles); his son, Ronald James Wilson (Dawn); his grandchildren, Trisha McDowell French (Chris), Tami McDowell, Jason Wilson (Margaret), Clint Wilson (Brynn), Kaleb Wilson, and Kelsey Wilson; his step-children, Debbie Ashworth Faris, Kathy Ashworth Ewertz, Vivian Ashworth King, and William Ashworth; his sisters, Bobbye Wilson Kincaid and Joyce Wilson Cahela; his great-grandchildren, Hunter Carlee, Tyler Wilson, Flik Wilson, Jonah Wilson, Finn Wilson, and Baylor Wilson; 13 nieces and nephews, and numerous grand nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alabama Childhood Food Solutions at 205 Old Home Place, Alpine AL 35014.
