James Gilliam

Mr. James Sewell Gilliam, Sr., age 86, of Birmingham, passed away on March 1, 2015. Mr. Gilliam was preceded in death by his brother, Malone Gilliam, and his sisters, Elizabeth Stinson and Ruth Long. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Delores Gilliam; his children, Lynn and Mike Fancher, Judy and David "Woody" Branch, and James "Rusty" Jr. and Tracye Gilliam; his sisters, Helen Smith and Doris Wordell; his grandchildren, Dana and Wayne Roberts, Jeff and Amy Fancher, Mandi and Jeremy Wilson, Matt and Skye Hays, Elizabeth Gilliam and her fianceI� Logan, Nathan Gilliam and his fianceI� Karlee, and Jonathan Gilliam; his great grandchildren, Kristin Roberts, Marshall Roberts, Kayla Fancher, Zachary Roberts, Emilee Roberts, Carli Ann Wilson, and Cade Wilson. The family would like to offer a special thanks to friend, caregiver and adopted family member, Monica Clark. Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 11:00 am at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East, with good friend Bob McGuyer speaking. A visitation will be held at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville from 10-11am. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Jimmie Hale Mission.
