James Coker

James H. Coker, age 87 of Birmingham, AL passed away on December 29, 2009. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a former choir member of First Wesleyan Church. He was a former choir director and member of Calvary Baptist Church, Center Point and currently attended Brookview Wesleyan Church. Mr. Coker's career was in insurance and Real Estate. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during World War II. He was a former Board Member of Downtown Jimmie Hale Mission. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Rosalyn Coker; sons, Stephen Coker (Carla) and Randall Coker; grandson, James Coker; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Services will be Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 2PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be an hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Downtown Jimmie Hale Mission. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
