James Acker Cleghorn III was born November 30, 1945, to James and Ruth Cleghorn. He was a resident of Pinson, AL, and passed away on June 21, 2019 at the age of 73 at his home. He is survived by his wife, Sue Allen Cleghorn; sons Chris (Dana) Cleghorn and Matthew Cleghorn; grandchildren Caitlyn (Dustin) Whitaker, and Ryan, Drew, Wilson, and Avery Cleghorn; sister Teri (Gerard) Mayer of Pembroke Pines, FL; brothers Patrick (Josette) Cleghorn of North Carolina, and Kelly (Kathy) Cleghorn of Eastaboga, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Center Point, serving in the choir, as a trustee, deacon, and teacher of the men's Sunday school class. He was retired from Siemens Corp. James was a great and Godly man, who was blessed with intellect and wisdom. His life was one of selflessness. He was devoted to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone he knew. He mirrored the teachings of Jesus through his love and faithfulness to his family, his church, and his friends. He will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him. A funeral service for James will be held on Monday, June 24, 2019 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Reverend Don Graham and Dr. David Haynes will be officiating.
