James H. Cain, age 83, passed away on December 3,2009. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, served in the Philippines during WWII and was among the first American occupation forces to land in Japan at the end of the war. James was in the glass business in Birmingham for many years. James loved Gospel music and was in several Gospel quartets during his life time. He was a member of Mount Olive Primitive Baptist Church in Cullman. He also enjoyed raising hybrid tea roses and bee keeping. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ona Cain and sister, Naomi Denny. James is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Nell Grigsby Cain; daughter, Patricia Jarrell (James); son, Phil Cain (Dott); grandchildren, Mark Jarrell, David Jarrell, Jessica Moore (John); great grandchildren, Sasha, Andre, and Rosa Jarrell and Elizabeth Moore; brothers, Kenneth, Quinten, Ralph and Wilfred Cain; sister, Doris Smith (Vernon); and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 7,2009 from 11:00AM until 12:00PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be held on Monday, December 7, 2009 at 12:00PM at Jefferson Memorial Chapel, burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
