Jack Vernon

Jack H. Vernon, age 93, of Birmingham passed away on November 24, 2017. Mr. Vernon was a graduate of Fairfield High School. He was a WWII veteran and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army after four years of service. He was an Electrical Engineer from Alabama Power where he retired after 32 years of service. Mr. Vernon was preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Jean Vernon; his son, Connor Vernon; parents, Jesse and Mary Vernon; his sister Alice Crim and brother, Jake Vernon. He is survived by his sons, Eugene Vernon (Marie) and Theo Vernon; sister, Betty Crews and brother, Jim Vernon (Nicole); his daughter-in-law, Sue Vernon; three grandchildren & five great granddaughters, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 29th at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The service will follow at 12 noon. The family requests that in lieu of flowers please send donations in honor of Mr. Vernon to either the Wounded Warrior Project or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
