Jack D. Lambert, age 89, passed away on October 20, 2014. He was a resident of Roebuck Plaza and a long-time member of Roebuck Plaza Baptist church. Mr. Lambert was a WWII veteran and served in the Atlantic and Pacific as a member of the U.S. Maritime Service. He was a Postmaster before retiring after 33 years of service. Mr. Lambert enjoyed working crossword puzzles in his spare time but mostly enjoyed long afternoon walks at East Lake Park. Mr. Lambert was preceded in death by his parents, George Dewey Lambert and Nell Lambert; his eldest son, Jack Daniel "Danny" Lambert, Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Coleman (David); son, Ken Lambert (Debbie); sister, Joanne White; brother, Jerry Lambert; grandchildren: Regina Douglas and Daniel Lambert, Ron Coleman, Heath Jones and Jamie Zinober; ten great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. The funeral service for Mr. Lambert will be held at Jefferson Memorial Chapel on Thursday, Oct 23rd at 12 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until time of service. Burial will immediately follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Reverend Jim Auchmuty is officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Argo Christian Fellowship building fund.
