Jack S. Kirkley age 78 died Friday August 21, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents Virginia and Richard Kirkley, brother R.L. Kirkley, sisters Louise Estes and Sybil Friedlander. He was survived by his loving wife of 57 years Christine, son Stanley (Reba) Kirkley, grandchildren Elijah, Daniel, Hannah, and Isaiah Kirkley all of Locust Fork. One uncle Henry Conn of Conroe, TX. Extended family Kellie and Justin Thomas and Elizabeth Moss. A host of other relatives and friends. Jack was a graduate of Samford University. A retired school teacher from many schools and colleges. He was listed in the Who's Who among America's Teachers. He was also a Baptist Minister of several Churches, (most recent Tarrant Heights and Midway Baptist). Jack served in the U.S. Army and the Korean War. He was a faithful member of Huffman Assembly/ Cathedral of the Cross, where he served as an usher, and most recently joined Locust Fork First Baptist, until his health failed him. Jack was a Master Craftsman and an Artist; where he designed cabinets, etc. His latest mural was done at Gibson Elementary School. Mr. Kirkley is the Author of "It's No Secret What God Can Do". A book about the miracles God performed throughout his ministry. Visitation will be held at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday, August 23, 2009 from 5:00PM-700PM. Chapel funeral services will be held on Monday at 12:00 Noon with burial to follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.
