Ivye Vickers

Ivye Lee Vickers, 83 , devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away sudddenly May 18, 2009. Predeceasing her was her beloved husband of over 50 years, H. M. "Vic" Vickers Jr. Ivye was the cornerstone of her family and remembering her with love are her sons and their families: Douglas and Susan Vickers, Pell City, AL; H. M. "Marty", Rhonda, Keaton and Sydney Vickers, Trussville, AL; her daughter and family: Donna, David and Haley Mixson, Trussville, AL; and a host of friends. Ivye brought a smile to every occasion, gave strength to her family circle and taught all of us the joy of living simply and simply living. She will always have the seat of honor on the pontoon boat and trips to the gulf will be highlighted by memories of how she adored the beach. We always described Ivye as lucky, but we were lucky for having known her. Her ready laugh and comforting arms will be missed but we'll hold tight to the memories. Services will be held at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens, 1591 Gadsden Hwy (US 11), Trussville, AL, on Thursday, May 21, 2009. Visitation will be at 11:30 to 1:00 a.m. with a gravesite service to follow. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Ivye's memory to the United Methodist Children's Home, P.O.
