Ira Mae Grant Howard, 84, of Birmingham went to be with the Lord on October 14, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira Luther and Jessie Grant; her loving husband of 64 years, Robert Earl Howard; brothers, Jimmy Grant, Ollie Crenshaw, James Crenshaw, and Charles Crenshaw; sisters, Mabel Fitts and Helen Shrader; son, Robert Earl Howard Jr; and granddaughters, Cheryl Howard and Valerie Edwards.

She is survived by daughter in law Theresa Howard; children, Judy Etheredge (Bill), Ronald Howard (Kay), Janet Bridges (Tommy), Joyce Hudson (Michael), David Howard (Leslie), Johnny Howard (Tammy), Linda McEvoy (Mike), Mary Edwards (Terry), Alice Rouse (Buster), Elizabeth Blackburn (Gene), James Howard (Tere), Jesse Howard (Robyn), Gary Howard (Lea Anne); sisters Alice McCollum and Johnnie Fae Munn. She was blessed with 82 grandchildren and 67 great grandchildren.

Ira Mae was a longtime member of Huffman Freewill Baptist Church. She played the piano, sang, and assisted others with their music for many years.
