Jean Whisenant, passed into the presence of the Lord on Saturday, May 11, 2013. She was born April 3, 1929, and lived most of her life in Birmingham. She most recently was nurtured and lovingly cared for at Grandview Gardens Memory Support Assisted Living Facility, Redstone Village, Huntsville where her favorite activities were visits with her family, Bingo, music and dancing. She was welcomed into Heaven by the love of her life, Johnnie, and two great grandchildren, Matthew and Bennett Nixon. She is survived by her two children, Sonny (Lynn) Whisenant of Trussville, and Suzanne Whisenant (Dusty) Pritchett of Huntsville. Her grandchildren include Jeff (Roseanna) and Scott (Stephanie) Whisenant of Trussville, Heather Pritchett (David) Nixon of Shiloh, Illinois, and Amanda Pritchett of New York, New York. Her great grandchildren are Asher and AJ Whisenant, Parker and London Whisenant, and Reilly and Sara Nixon. A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, May 14, at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, Trussville. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00, with the service at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider a donation in her honor to Grandview Gardens Walk Down Memory Lane Fund c/o Redstone Village, 11000 Turnmeyer Drive, Huntsville, Alabama 35803 or to a charity of your choice.
