Howard Herron passed away on November 17, 2017. He was 92 years of age. He was a member of Grants Mill Primitive Baptist in Birmingham, AL since June of 1993. Brother Herron was a native of Walker County, Alabama, born on November 13, 1925. After serving in the United States Army in World War II (274th Regiment of the 70th Infantry Division, European Theater of Operations), he attended Wheeler Business College in Birmingham, Alabama where he met his wife-to-be, Lucile Bryson. He later worked at Ingell Ship Building in Pascagoula, Mississippi, Hayes Aircraft and Pure Oil Company in Birmingham, Alabama. He then went to the Birmingham Water Works in 1960, where he worked for thirty years, retiring in 1990. Brother Herron is preceded in death by his parents, Robert B. Herron and Hughie R. Herron, spouse, Lucile B. Herron, brother, Verner Herron and sisters, Flora Fowler and Norma Davis. Brother Herron is survived by his daughter, Ronda Wilson (Joe), son, Roger Herron (Regina), grandson, Adam Wilson (Amy), granddaughter, Macie Jo Jones (Kyle), numerus nieces and nephews and extended family, Douglas Simmons, Nancy Simmons and Rodney Simmons. Services will be on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at 3 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be an hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Elder Philip Dukes will be officiating over the services. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
