Hilda Clapp

Hilda Gowens Clapp, age 89 of Birmingham, passed away peacefully April 7, 2018. She was born on August 14, 1928 in Gadsden, Al and graduated from Emma Sansom High School. She moved to Birmingham, Al in 1953. She retired from UAB, Spain Rehab. After retiring, she became a manicurist and worked at her daughter’s beauty salon for 10 years. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ollie Mae Blackwood; father, Oscar Odell Blackwood; brother, Odell Blackwood; and her husband, Henry Clapp. She is survived by her daughter, Darlene Flowers (Bob); granddaughter, Monica Moody (Perry); great-granddaughters, Lauren and Lindsay Moody; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her family will receive visitors on Tuesday April 10, 2018 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville from 1pm -2 pm with service following at 2 pm with Rev. Dewey Corder officiating.
