Henry Arthur

Henry Edward Arthur, age 79, of Center Point went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ on August 28, 2010.

Mr. Arthur was a member of Hilldale Baptist Church. He was retired from EZ Finance Company and was also a long time member of the Elks Lodge 79. Mr. Arthur was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a friend to everyone he met and a shining example of Christ each and everyday of his life. He raised his family to love and respect Jesus, teaching them to honor His name in all they did.

Mr. Arthur is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grady W. Arthur and his brother Royal Merchant. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Emerson A. Arthur. He was a loving and devoted father to his children: Wanda Vest (Gordon), Sherry McCay (Steve), and Edward Alan Arthur (Linda). He is also survived by his brother, Ernest W. Arthur (Sadie).

Mr. Arthur was a tremendous grandfather to his eight grandchildren: Phillip Vest, Amy Vest (Agustin), Christy Lett (Darrin), Stacey Vest (Jonathan), Andrew McCay (Ashley),

Jake Arthur (Ryan Lee), Kimberly DeLoach (Daniel), and Robert Daniel Arthur (Lauren). He was also a proud great-grandfather to his four great-grandchildren: Noah, Caleb, and McKinly Lett and Alexandra Hall.

Services will be held at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville. Visitation will be at 2:00 P.M. on August 30, 2010 and a Graveside service will follow at 3:00 P.M. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and future grandsons. The family wishes to thank the Wiregrass Hospice for their loving care and friendship that was offered to Mr. Arthur and his entire family during the entirety of his illness.
