Helen Popwell

Helen Olene Popwell, age 88 of Birmingham, AL passed away on September 21, 2012. She was a member of Deerfoot Baptist Church. She was an Auxiliary Member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. She was survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Paul Popwell; children, Jerry P. Popwell (Sandra), Judy Knight (Gary), and Mary Ann Hancock; sisters, Mary Sue Popwell and Betty J. Greene; brothers, James Shaneyfelt and Franklin Shaneyfelt; grandchildren, James M. Popwell, Tiffany L. Cook, Ashely D. Thimaras, Joel N. Knight, Heath I. Seelbinder, Patric I. Seelbinder, and Lance V. Seelbinder; 13 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Deerfoot Baptist Church. Visitation will be an hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Dr. Wayne Scott and Dr. Roger Willmore will be officiating over the services.
