Harshel Parsons

Harshel J. Parsons, age 86, of Birmingham, AL passed away on March 19, 2009. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a dear friend and helper to many. He was a member and a Life Time Deacon of South Roebuck Baptist Church. He served in the Navy during WWII. He retired from Bellsouth after 35 years of service. He enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife visiting every main land state along with Canada. Harshel is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Davis Parsons. He is survived by his daughter, Wanda McFarland (Ronnie); son, Ron Parsons (Mary); grandchildren, Daniel Parsons (Tracy), Allison Moore (Eric), Jay McFarland (Sara), Casey Rumanek (Eric); great- grandchildren, Avery Moore and Hadley McFarland. Services will be held at South Roebuck Baptist Church on Monday, March 23, 2009 at 12:00PM Rev. Chris Crain officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2009 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home from 5:00PM until 7:00PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to New Beacon Hospice or South Roebuck Baptist Church. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
