Harold Smith

Harold Millard Smith, age 85, of Birmingham, died on February 29, 2012. He grew up in Leeds AL. and went to West End High School. He served in WWII from 1944 until 1946 in the US Navy on the USS Marble Head and the USS Helena. He was a Scout Troop Leader in Center Point for many years and was a Mason. Mr. Smith was retired from AlaGasCo with 41 years of service. He loved the outdoors and the beach, was a devoted family man with the love of God and Country. He was a Good Samaritan. He was preceded in death by his wife Myrtle Nell Smith and daughter Barbara Somerset. Graveside services will be on March 3, at 2pm with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. He is survived by his daughters Brenda Smith of Birmingham, Bonnie Vilos (James) of Centerville, Utah, Becky Grissom of Trussville, 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren.
