Reverend Harold Cleveland Proctor, age 91 of Warrior, AL went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 10, 2022 at his home surrounded by loved ones.
Harold was born on September 29, 1930 to his parents Ollis and Kathleen Proctor in Jefferson County, AL.
Harold was an Eagle Scout and grew up in Birmingham, AL. He graduated from Ensley High School. Harold received a Bachelor’s Degree from Howard College currently known as Samford University. He then went on to receive a Master’s Degree in Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary at Fort Worth, TX.
Harold was ordained at the age of 19 in 1949 at Hunter Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL. He served as a Baptist Minister for 72 years, touching the lives of many while remaining steadfast in his faith. He served at Alden Baptist, Eagle Mt. and Nevada Baptist in TX, 66th Street Baptist, Birmingham, AL, First Baptist Church, Albertville, AL, Macland Baptist, Powder Springs, GA, Cleveland Ave Baptist, East Point, GA, Huffman Baptist, Birmingham, AL, New Temple Baptist Church, Warrior, AL.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 29 years, Peggy A. Proctor; his parents; brother, Clarence Proctor; sister, Evelyn Marlow and a nephew, Dwight Delano Marlow, Jr.
He is survived by his seven children, Lyndyl Williams, Hal Proctor (Karen), Tracye Craven, Jon Proctor (Jo), Doug Gober (Vickie), Keith Gober, Ty Gober (Monica); sixteen grandchildren, Jennifer Williams, Lyn Wilson (Dustin), Brittany Wood (Stephen), Mary Hunt Turner (Ryan), Hannah Hunt, Michael Patrick, Shannon Gober (Shana), David Gober (Kate), Cara Gober, Anna Rae Wilson (Jeremy), Eric Gober, Joel Gober (Kourtney), Jess Gober (Calley), Nick Gober (Abbie), Ryan Gober, Blaine Gober; thirteen great grandchildren. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral for Harold will be held at Jefferson Memorial Chapel in Trussville on Friday, January 14th at 12 noon with a visitation for friends and family held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. The committal service will immediately follow the chapel service at Forest Hill Cemetery in Birmingham, AL.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the "New Temple Baptist Church Building Fund Drive" 4501 Greathouse Rd. Dora, AL 35062
