Guadalupe Gabriel Cortes Valerio “Lupillo”, age 14, went to Heaven on May 25, 2024. He was born on April 26, 2010, in Birmingham, Alabama, but was proud of his Mexican heritage and traditions. He was very humble and loving to his parents, siblings, family, and friends. His biggest passions were his love to play soccer, and video games. He loved to spend time and hang out with his friends and teammates to play soccer. He had great and big dreams to make it to the big soccer leagues. He would always have a smile on his sweet face. He had a compassionate heart with little ones but, particularly to his little sisters and cousins. He is survived by his parents, Mario Cortes Villanueva, and Gabriela Valerio Calvillo; an older brother Mario Cortes-Valerio and older sister, Madison Cortes-Valerio; two younger sisters Jehiely Cortes-Valerio and Camila Cortes-Valerio. Also survived by both of her grandmothers Aurelia Villanueva Alvarado and Gloria Leticia Calvillo Aguilar, uncles and aunts, and cousins.
He was preceded death by his grandfather Mario Cortes Lachino and Leopoldo Valerio Sanchez.
Lupillo will always be remember with an infinite love by his family and friends. May the light of the Lord shine upon you Lupillo.
Visitation at 1:00 pm on Saturday June 1st, 2024 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church follow by Mass at 2:00pm. In Gabriel's honor, the family requests that guests wear white to the services if possible.
Interment at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens in Trussville.

Nació el 26 de abril de 2010 en Birmingham, Alabama, pero estába muy orgulloso de su herencia y tradiciones mexicanas. Era muy humilde y cariñoso con sus padres, hermanos, familiares y amigos. Sus mayores pasiones eran el amor por el fútbol y los videojuegos. Le encantaba pasar tiempo y salir con sus amigos y compañeros de equipo para jugar fútbol. Él tenía grandes sueños de llegar a las grandes ligas de fútbol. Siempre tenía una sonrisa en su dulce carita. Tenía un corazón compasivo con los pequeños pero, especialmente, con sus hermanas y primitos. Le sobreviven sus padres, Mario Cortés Villanueva y Gabriela Valerio Calvillo; un hermano mayor, Mario Cortés-Valerio, y una hermana mayor, Madison Cortés-Valerio; dos hermanas menores Jehiely Cortes-Valerio y Camila Cortes-Valerio. También le sobreviven sus dos abuelas, Aurelia Villanueva Alvarado y Gloria Leticia Calvillo Aguilar, tíos, tías y primos.
Le precedieron en la muerte su abuelo Mario Cortés Lachino y Leopoldo Valerio Sánchez.
Lupillo siempre será recordado con un amor infinito por sus familiares y amigos. Que la luz del Señor brille sobre ti nuestro querido y amado Lupillo.
Visitacion Sábado Junio 1ro, 2024 a la 1:00 pm en La Iglesia Principe de Paz en Hoover. Seguido por la Misa a las 2:00pm. Funeral en Jefferson Memorial Garden en Trussville.
En honor a Gabriel, la familia solicita que los invitados vistan de blanco a los servicios si es posible.
