Grace George

Grace Love Stocks George, age 95 of Birmingham, AL passed away on July 17, 2009. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a member of Overton Road Methodist Church. Grace loved traveling and camping and reminiscing about traveling and camping. She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Joseph Olin George and her son, Thomas "Joe" Howard George. She is survived by her sons, Kenneth O. George (Ann) and Larry George; daughter-in-law, Faye George; sisters, Zelma Little, Olga Wiseman, Martha Barker, and Effie Millican; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; numerous family members and friends. The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Alabama Living Center for giving Gracie a home full of compassion and love during the last three and half years of her life. Visitation will be Sunday, July 19, 2009 from 4 to 7PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be held at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home on Monday at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alabama Living Center, 2350 Sweeney Hollow Rd. Pinson, AL 35126.
