Gordon Anderson

Gordon Thomas "Pete" Anderson, age 88 passed away on June 28, 2011. Pete was a lifelong resident of Birmingham, AL. After graduating from Woodlawn High School, he joined the Marine Corp and served our country in the South Pacific in WWII. He was retired as an engineer from Seaboard Coast Line Railroad. He was a member of Crestway Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Christy Anderson. He is survived by his loving companion, Lola Freeman; daughter, Donna Watson of Charleston, SC, and grandchildren Jeff, Josh and Jamie; son, Chris Anderson of Birmingham, and grandchildren Christy, Ashley, and Brande; daughter Dale Waldrop of Henrietta, TX, and grandchildren Lori and Brooks; and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be on Friday, July 1, 2011 at 12:00PM. Visitation will be from 11:00 - 12:00PM on Friday. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
