George Nichols

George Edward Nichols, Sr. "Butch", 70, of Trussville passed away December 18, 2015 at home with his family. George was born in Columbus, GA December 2, 1945. He went to Woodlawn High School in Birmingham and graduated in 1963. He attended Auburn University. He was an electrical salesman at General Machinery Co, Inc. where he retired. He loved to play golf and enjoyed working in the yard as much as possible. Also loved playing poker with his good friends and loved Auburn Football. George is preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Jerrene Nichols. Visitation will be from 5pm until 7pm Sunday. Chapel services will be held on Monday, Dec 21 at Noon with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. George is survived by his wife Janet Bruns Nichols, sister Rita Nichols Catlett, children Marsha Jarrell (Todd), George Edward Nichols Jr (Crystal), Brad Bullock (Stephanie), and Brittany Culp (Robin), 8 grandchildren, Kelsie, Jayson, Caitlin, Logan, Hannah, Landon, Hayden, and Madison.
