George Harris

George Glenn "Pete" Harris, of Birmingham passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 following a courageous battle with a prolonged illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amber and George Harris. He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Barbara Damico Harris; daughter, Renee Shaw of Atlanta GA; sons, Greg Harris (Rhonda) and Brent Smith of Birmingham and Glen Ervin of Florida; grandchildren, Brittany Harris of Birmingham; Stewart, Trenton and Scott Shaw of Atlanta GA; Holly and Cassie Ervin of Florida; niece, Holly Duran and nephew, Adam Hovey. Pete was a lifelong businessman of the greater Birmingham business area for over 40 years. Former owner of Harris Motors. He enjoyed trips to the car sales and had a great love for the outdoors. The family would like to extend special thanks to both his care givers, Alisha Perkins and Sharon Hovey, his sister in law for their loving and devoted care. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 12 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Chapel services will be held on Saturday, February 13 at 10:00 AM and burial to follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
