George Scroggins

George Scroggins, 63, of Birmingham, passed away July 28, 2018. He was a loyal husband, loving father, brother, grandfather, uncle, friend, and a faithful servant of the Lord. He was a devoted worker and an elevator mechanic and inspector, and a member of the Ironworkers Local 92 and Elevator Constructors Local 24. George had many passions that he devoted his time to as well. He was a member of the Restoration Gathering Praise Team, a fanatic Yankees baseball and Alabama football fan, and avid musician/guitarist, lover of music (especially BB King & Led Zeppelin), tube amp builder and collector, SciFi fan, and motorcycle enthusiast. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Anita Scroggins, daughters April Bonasera (Andy), Christy Nelson (Jerry), son Aaron Scroggins (Kristen), grandchildren Sophia Louise Nelson, Emmie James Scroggins, Elizabeth Ann Scroggins, Margaret Pierce Nelson, brother James Scroggins (Judy), sisters Kathy Shadix (Ricky), Terri Ann Elmore (Danny), and numerous nieces and nephews. Chapel services will be on Tuesday, July 31, at noon with visitation at 11am. In lieu of flowers, make donations to Christian Service Mission (205) 252-9906 or Brother Bryan Mission (205) 322-0092.
