Genova Brown

Genova Mae Rider Brown, age 89, of Birmingham went home to be with the Lord on June 13, 2013. She was a member of Hilldale Baptist Church in Center Point. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Rev. W. Byce Brown. She is survived by three children Gwendolyn Brown Massey, Darlene Brown Glanton, and Christopher D. (Tammy) Brown; four grandchildren Devona Nix Zales, Brandon (Jessica) Massey, Lesley (Scott) Adams, and Lori (Rob) Moore; eight great grandchildren Taylor Zales, Jack, Max, and Stella Adams, Alexis, Kayla, Zaida and Ian Moore; a sister and brother Joe Adams and W. J. (Betty) Rider, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Brown was an avid gardener of vegetables and flowers, but will be remembered most for the love, joy and generosity she has shown to her family and others over the years. The family will receive friends on June 15, 2013 from 11:00am until 12:00pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville. Funeral service will be at 12:00 pm in the chapel; Drs. Ron Pate and Donny Holley officiating.
