Garry L. Gilbert, precious husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, died Wednesday October 31, at age 73. He was a member of Fairview Methodist Church, a veteran of the US Navy and a Master Machinist and gifted craftsman who could create anything, from a scale model brass and oak cannon that he made for his dad for Father's day to parts for the space shuttle. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Marcia Turner Gilbert, his son Greg Turner and wife Beth, his granddaughter Lea Grace Gilbert, his brothers and sisters-in-law Jon and Sandy Gilbert, Russell and Sherry Gilbert, his sister and brother-in-law Rhonda and Don Meads, many nieces, nephews, extended family members and a circle of dear and cherished friends. He was predeceased by his daughter Meliya Gilbert Wallace and his parents Blanche and Leon Gilbert. The family invites family and friends to share both their grief and memories on Friday from 5pm until 7pm at Jefferson Memorial. Graveside services will be conducted by dear family friend Brother Ragan Boling on Saturday at 11am at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
