Frederic Chapman

Frederic Derek Chapman, age 64, of Pinson, AL, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2011 following an extended battle with lung cancer. Fred joins his parents Leon Curtis and Roberta Virginia Sides Chapman in their heavenly home. He leaves to cherish and honor his memory his loving and devoted wife and best friend of 24 years, Patsey Chapman of Pinson, AL; his daughters Charm Chapman of Pinson, AL, Storm Majewski of Calera, AL, and Leslie Uptain of Honolulu, HI; his grandchildren Dade and Trinity Grimsley of Pinson, AL and Chance and Evan Majewski of Calera, AL; brothers and sisters-in-law Robert C. (June) Chapman of Cropwell, AL, T. Ronald (Andrea) Chapman of LaFayette, LA, and W. Reese (Chris) Chapman of Huntsville, AL; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Born in Talledega, AL, he graduated from Lineville High School and Auburn University with a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering. An avid Auburn Tiger fan, he celebrated the 2010 National Football Championship Team. Following a successful career with several national companies in AK, AL, FL and TX, he retired after many years from the U.S. Department of Defense (Birmingham, AL office) to devote time to raising cattle on his Pinson ranch and enjoying his children and grandchildren. Devoted to God and family, he was a member of the Village Springs Baptist Church and Center Point Masonic Lodge No. 872. The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff and physicians at St. Vincent's East and Lloyd Nolan Hospital - Birmingham who cared for him during his illness and in his final days. A memorial service celebrating Fred's life will be held at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home on December 28, 2011 at 2:00PM; visitation with the family will be one hour before the service. Rev.
