Fred Osborne Kelley, age 86, passed away January 14, 2015. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama on July 9, 1928, the youngest of nine children to George Lee and Lula Jordan Kelley. After graduation from high school, Fred joined the United States Army for an enlistment period of 18 months and spent 15 months in Korea. He was discharged in April of 1948 and enrolled in Auburn University in the fall of 1948. He graduated from Auburn in December 1951 with a Bachelor of Science Degree, accounting major. His entire working career was in public accounting as a Certified Public Accountant. He was a retired partner of the international accounting firm of Deloitte and Touche, CPA's. Fred was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Dean Kiser Kelley; by his parents; his brothers Eugene, Ralph, Emmett and Edwin; by his sisters Maxine, and Ruby. He is survived by his sisters Nell K. Malone, Elizabeth K. Dobbs; children Douglas Kelley, Freda Kelley Fagan (George), and Timothy Kelley; by his granddaughters Neeley Kelley, Lindsey Fagan and Kelley Fagan. Fred was of the Christian faith and his goal in life was to live his life in accordance with the Lord's Commandments and be a good husband and father. He had many friends and enjoyed playing golf and traveling with his family and friends. He loved Auburn University and served on Auburn's Accounting Advisory Board. Fred enjoyed all Auburn sports and especially it's National Championship in football for the year 2010. Fred was president of the Trinka Davis Foundation, a not for profit foundation whose main purpose is helping provide medical care to service men and women that were wounded in action. He was a member of the Birmingham Chapter, The Alabama Society and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Visitation will be from 12pm until 2pm Saturday January17, at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with services immediately following.
