Rev. Franklin D. Harris, age 80, of Steele, AL. died peacefully with his family at his bedside. Mr. Harris was owner of a service station, auto parts store and foreign car repair in Pinson prior to his service in the ministry of over 40 years at Coalburg IPHC, McCombs IPHC, and Trinity Chapel IPHC. He was also a member of Grace Temple Church in CenterPoint and was a Korean War Veteran. He loved God, his family, friends, his two favorite dogs, Trixie and Chewy, hunting and fishing. Rev. Harris was preceded in death by his parents, Luther T. Harris and Minnie Estell Harris; four sisters, Vivian, Lois, Eldora, Juanita, and one brother, L.T. Harris. Survivors include his wife of fifty-nine years, Anna Pearl Harris; two daughters, Karen Harris Gray (Rev. Michael), Lisa Harris Hays (Rev. Randy); three sons, Rev. Frankie L. Harris (Martha), Rev. Danny R. Harris (Barbara) and Phillip D. Harris. Thirteen grandchildren; Nineteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one sister, Connie Harris Nicholas. Celebration services for Rev. Harris will be 12:00 PM, Saturday, November 30, 2013 with Revs. Frankie L. Harris and Danny R. Harris officiating. Pallbearers will include his grandsons, Kevin, Kenny, Lance, Dakota, Caleb, Jacob, Robert, Blake, and Chip; honorary pallbearers, Luke, Dylan, and Colton. The family will receive friends Friday, November 29, 2013 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm and one hour prior to the services Saturday at Jefferson Memorial, Trussville. Burial will follow at Sunrise Cemetery in Pinson, AL.
