Frank John Rumore, age 88, of Birmingham, passed away November 11, 2013. He was born July 25, 1925 to Jake and Santa Rumore. He was a WWII veteran serving aboard multiple aircraft carriers in the Pacific Theater. After completing an around the world cruise aboard the USS Saipan in 1955, he was stationed at Cherry Point, NC. Mr. Rumore retired from the Marine Corps in 1963 with 20 years of service. He brought that same dedication of service to everything he ever did. He was a member of St. Marks the Evangelist Catholic Church. Mr. Rumore is preceded in death by his parents Jake and Santa Rumore, grandparents Joseph Rumore and Bernardo Oddo, sisters Verna, Lillian, and Rose, brothers Ross, Ben, Joe, and Tom. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, November 14 at 11am with burial in the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Alice Rumore, daughter Barbara Tickle (Charlie), sons Mike Rumore (Dee), John Rumore, grandchildren Jason Tickle, Jeremy Tickle, Eric Rumore, great grandsons Stone Tickle, Charlie Tickle, and Jake Rumore.
