Frank E. Hopton-Jones "Eddie"

Eddie Hopton-Jones, age 65, of Trussville, AL passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 after a long battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Hopton-Jones, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Paula P. Hopton-Jones; son, Payne Edward Hopton-Jones; mother, Charlotte Hopton-Jones; brothers, William Hopton-Jones (Janet), Donald Hopton-Jones (Susan) and Robert Hopton-Jones (Leigh); sister-in-law, M. A. Morales (Juan); brother-in-law, Arthur Payne (Debbie), Charles Payne (Linda) and John Payne (Sally) along with numerous nieces and nephews. Eddie attended Ramsey High School, Marion Military Institute and Jefferson State Junior College where he was a member of the tennis team and was ranked 6th in the state and 16th in the South. He loved tennis, golf and Auburn Football. He was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War where he served as a pharmacy tech at Walter Reed Hospital. Eddie was a wonderful and loving husband and father. He will be missed dearly. A graveside service will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 22nd at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request that you send donations to the American Cancer Society.
