Frances Womble

Frances Slovensky Womble of Birmingham, Alabama took her last step to Heaven on July 15, 2023. She was born on August 27, 1935 in Birmingham, Alabama. She is a graduate of Minor High School. She married Arvil Womble on July 9, 1965 and they remained married until his death on November14, 2006. She was the mother of three children and six grandchildren. She was a Christian and a former member of the Fellowship West Church in Hueytown, Alabama. She enjoyed Bible studies, volunteering to help at the Senior Adult Center and spending time with her family and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Arvil Womble, her parents Matthew and Rosalee Slovensky, sisters Vicky Martin and Mary Freeberg, brother Matthew Slovensky Jr., and stepson Donnie Womble.

She is survived by her daughters Connie Karthaus (Fred), Carol Donaldson (Charles) and Bobbie Miles (Randy Knapp), six grandchildren Bethany Cox (Colbey), Allison Karthaus, C.J. Donaldson, Chris Donaldson, Angie Moody (Darryl) and Chris Womble (Melissa), sister Rose Spears (Tommy), stepson Michael Womble and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday July 20, 2023 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville, Alabama with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, Dr. Fred W. Karthaus III officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service.
